What does the Governance & Finance officer do?

• Monitors the Union’s income and expenditure, according to financial regulations
• Reports to the appropriate Union and University bodies on financial matters
• Co-ordinates the budget process, including the Annual Allocation bid to the University.
• Liaises with external auditors
• Assists in the development of the long-term strategic plans, including the financial plan.
• Chairs Board of Directors meetings
• Monitors and co-ordinates the Union’s use of IT
• Oversees democratic processes, including Union Council, AGM, elections and referenda
• Responsible for coordinating all democratic training, i.e. Council and Officer Training
• Responsible for coordinating Managing Your Money training for clubs and societies.
• Financial support for One World Week Support Exec.
• Conducts the appraisal of the General Manager with the President.
• Co-ordinates the Union disciplinary process
