Have Your Say
When we say the Union is run by you, we mean it. There are many ways to ensure that your thoughts are being heard by the Union and that it is representing your views - explore some of the options to below to see how you can have your say.
- Feedback
- You don't have to wait for referenda to tell us what you think. You can tell us anything, anytime.
- Elections
- Any student can stand and every student can vote. You decide who's in charge.
- Referenda
- The most powerful decision-maker the Union has, and it's up to every one of you. Any student cn call a referendum and its decicions cannot be overturned (except by another Referendum of course!)
- Council
- The Union's equivalent of Parliament or Congress (or the Galactic Senate), Council is where you can hold your officers to account. It is also a policy-making body and its members are elected by you so use your vote to make sure you are represented.
- Exec
- So once you've voted on an issue or stance who makes sure it actually happens? That would be Exec, or The Executive Committee to give it its full name.
- Union Officers
- Union Officers
- Policy
- Policy is what we collectively believe and directs how we act. Once it has ben passed the Union cannot do anything to contradict it.
- Campaigns
- If you have something to say, we want to help you say it. The Union campaigns on many issues but if you think there's something we're missing, that something might just be you.
- Structure
- The relationship between Council, Officers, General Meetings, Exec, Referenda and all that jazz...
