In recent weeks, we received several emails from students currently studying on a year abroad who were upset that Warwick Accommodation had changed the rules on group nominations when applying for University-managed accommodation during their final year. While this was the first that we had heard of this issue, we shared the welfare concerns of those students affected and duly raised these with the University.

We are pleased to announce that, following our intervention, Warwick Accommodation will be reopening the practice of students being able to apply for on-campus accommodation in groups for the 2015-16 academic year (though due to space constraints, they unfortunately cannot guarantee that all members of the group will be situated together).

While there are still plans to implement the proposed changes for the 2016-17 academic year, Warwick Accommodation has acknowledged that the timescales were too short for the change to take effect next year, and has recognised that there were several areas of miscommunication on this issue.
