We had a fantastic weekend at BUCS Nationals with some amazing performances and results across all 6 sports, and I have shared the full highlights below:

- Bronze medal for Mikey Feng in the men’s singles (with a very close match in the semi finals)
- Bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles for Sam Ricketts and Sam Weekes
- Bronze medal in the BUCS Para event for Tom Gale and Jack Wilson!
Notable performances:

- Scholar Angus Bowling finished 5th in the A final for pole vault, clearing an incredible height of 4.43m and beating his joint 6th place finish last year.
- Scholar Henry Stewart ran a Season’s Best in the 400m, crossing the line at 50.40s in the semi-finals. Olivia Boachie also reached the semi finals for the 400m womens
- Lucy Lane achieved a Season’s Best in the Long Jump, jumping 4.93m
- The men’s 4x200m relay team finished in 4th place in the final, with an incredible time of 1:30.64 (average 200m split pace of 23.41 seconds!)

- Silver medal for Ethan Tackley in the Senior -84kg Kumite (despite picking up a foot injury in the earlier rounds)
- Silver medal for Sarujan Rupan in the Novice -80kg Kumite
- Silver medal for Sophie Reid in the Novice -63kg Kumite
Notable performances:

- Scholar James Le Grice was just 0.23 seconds off a silver medal in the 50M Butterfly. Heartbreakingly close! He also had a 7th place finish in the 50M backstroke A final.
- Scholar Berk Emre Paker placed 8th in the 50M freestyle B final in his first year competing for Warwick.
- The men’s 400M relay team placed 6th in two B finals (medley and freestyle) to round off the weekend.

- Bronze medal for Sophie Tsang in the Senior Women’s Foil (in her first year at Warwick!)
- VP Sport Louis Gosling placed 12th in the Senior Mixed Saber

- No medals but we had a great presence at the event
The standard of all the sport we saw across the different venues was extremely high and so impressive to see our students performing at such a level.
Big thank you to Christy for providing physio support again to both badminton and athletics athletes this year, which was greatly appreciated by the students and reflected in their performances. We also had the support of a media team who created some fantastic promotional videos over the weekend!
