Nominations for the roles of Council Chair and Deputy Chair for the next academic year (2022/23) are now open!
Student Council is led by the Chair, who organises the agenda, keeps order during Council and makes decisions outside of the meeting. They also chair the All Student Vote (ASV) meetings to make sure that they run smoothly and that everyone has the opportunity to speak.
In addition to these main duties, the Council Chair is also a member of the Democracy Committee, gets involved in assessing the impact of motions and is part of our elections adjudication panel that handle election complaints.
The Deputy Chair is also a member of Student Council and their role is to support the Council Chair and act in their place if they are absent.
If you are interested in either role, please nominate yourself here.
Any student can nominate themselves! Nominations open at 12 Noon on 22nd April and close at midday on 6th May at 12 Noon.
Then, you’ll have the opportunity to attend the next Council meeting on 10/05/22 from 16:00 - 19:00 and deliver a speech outlining your ambitions and reasons to be voted for.
Voting opens at 4pm on the 10th May and closes on the 11th May at 10am.
Only members of the current Student Council, members of Committees and Faculty Reps can vote on who they want to be the Council Chair or Deputy Chair.
