Asymptomatic Covid-19 testing will be moving from the Slate to the Junction (the old Sports Centre) this week. Here's how to use the Asymptomatic Testing Service and what to do if you test positive.
Covid-19 Testing
Asymptomatic Covid-19 testing will be moving from the Slate to the Junction (the old Sports Centre) this week. Testing at the Slate will close at midday on Wednesday 23rd June, and will open in the Junction at 10am on Thursday 24th June.
The University is also updating the access to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing at Gibbet Hill, as they are now able to provide PCR tests to those who have been notified that they are a close contact by the NHS and have to self-isolate (regardless of symptoms).
Positive Results
Unfortunately, we are seeing a number of linked positive cases at the moment, so it's really important that students (and staff) let the University know if they get a positive result, regardless of where they get tested. The University doesn't get this information automatically through the NHS, and the lag with Public Health England data means that tracing can be delayed. Students should notify the University of a positive result here.
It's also really important that students self-isolate as soon as they receive a positive result (or as soon as they start to feel unwell). The tracing team will then be in touch to establish close contacts and any support requirements.
