The Warwick Rowing Club recently headed off to Venice to compete in the prestigious International Universities’ Rowing Race, and placed second!

The International Universities Rowing Race in the Grand Canal, organised by Università Ca' Foscari Venezia in collaboration with Università Iuav di Venezia and CUS Venezia, has been held since 2004.

This year, the competition was between the Ca’ Foscari-Iuav team of Venice, Harvard University, the University of Vienna and the University of Warwick, held on a course of around 750 metres, starting from the Rialto Bridge and arriving in front of Ca’ Foscari.

Warwick placed second in the race - an incredible achievement!

Eoin Martin, club member, said:

"Going to Venice to compete in the Regatta Storica was an amazing experience for us all, competing on the Grand Canal was a truly unique opportunity we'll never forget, and coming second was a great achievement for us all."

A huge congratulations to the team.
