Welcome to University of Warwick’s Pakistan Society!
We invite all global citizens to come embark on our rich and diverse culture, in which you will get the chance to experience all of what we have to offer. We aim to be a community for our Pakistani students from here and abroad, and we welcome everyone else with our open arms!
Pakistan has five distinct regions: Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh – in our society we take pride in our diversity through our various events, talks and social activities.
Allow us to take you through our range of activities and departments as we offer loads with a Pakistani twist!!
We host a variety of cultural festivals, social gatherings, and other events to celebrate Pakistani heritage. Our aims are to foster a strong sense of community among Pakistani students at Warwick University. Through our events, we strive to create a welcoming environment where members can connect, last year PakSoc saw events like Hot Wings Challenge, Afreen (Qawaali Night), Desi Karoke Night, Desi Potlucks (get ready for some handi and hopefully biryani) and many more where many built lasting friendships. This year we are bringing back some of our most popular events and some new as well so stay tuned.
Our society is dedicated to supporting humanitarian causes in Pakistan through close partnerships with foundations such as the Humdard Foundation and TCF. Throughout the year, PakSoc collaborates with other societies to hold fundraiser stalls for various causes, including supporting Palestine. Join us in making a difference through our impactful charity events and initiatives as we look to expand our outreach much more this year with events targeted towards education, food and aid in natural disasters.
At Warwick Pakistani Society, we offer a variety of sports activities and events to keep our members engaged and active. From cricket to football, we aim to host fun and inclusive sports events for everyone. Never miss a Pakistan match with our exciting match screenings, and this year, we plan to host squash and badminton sessions alongside our regular activities. Join us for inter-university PakSoc tournaments and friendly matches throughout the year.
PakSoc aims to facilitate our members in their academic journeys at Warwick through dedicated mentorship programs. We also host engaging speaker events featuring exciting speakers and Warwick alumni, such as the former CEO of PCB. Additionally, we ensure cultural connections remain strong by offering Urdu lessons. Join us to benefit from our educational support and cultural enrichment activities.
As PakSoc, we also host our annual PakSoc Ball, a glamorous event celebrating Pakistani culture and heritage. The ball features traditional music, dance(might see an exec dance this year), and the famous Pakistani food among other things. Our aims are to foster a sense of community and pride among Pakistani students, showcase our rich cultural traditions, and provide an opportunity for members to socialize and network. Through the PakSoc Ball, we seek to create lasting memories, strengthen bonds within our society, and just simply make everyone dance.
