Go is the world's oldest board game still continuously played today, and at Warwick Go Society you can meet others who play Go, and learn how to play Go yourself.
Go (also known as Weiqi / Igo / Baduk) is a strategic board game that originated in China over 4,000 years ago. Despite its simple rules, Go offers incredible depth and complexity, with more possible board configurations than atoms in the universe. Players take turns placing black or white stones to surround territory, leading to rich patterns, deep tactics, and elegant strategy. It's easy to learn but takes a lifetime to master, making it one of the most intellectually rewarding games ever created.
We host weekly game sessions on Wednesdays 2-4pm, development workshops, tournaments, social events, and more! For details like where our weekly meetings are and about our other upcoming events, follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our weekly newsletters by joining the society.
