The University of Warwick Men’s Football Club is one of the most prestigious sports clubs on campus, with 4 BUCS squads and over 100 members. Members attend 3/4 training sessions per week, run by UEFA B qualified coaches, as they prepare for BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) fixtures every Wednesday. Boasting some of the best University football pitches in the UK, as well as other state of the art training facilities, we ensure that each of our members develop as players while competing at the highest posible level. This is aided by our recent partnership with local National League North side, Leamington FC, who provide us with high quality coaches and a director of football. This also offers a pathway into semi-professional step set-ups for those who aim to continue their footballing careers beyond university.
To join our club:
You will be asked to complete a minimum of two trials, the first of which will take place on Tuesday 1st October. The sign-up form will be made available via our social media channels, and will also be handed out at the sports fair held the week prior to trials (welcome week).
If you are successful on day one, you will recieve information regarding a second round of trials via email and social media channels. These will take place the following day (Wednesday 2nd October).
If you are successful on day two, you will be welcomed into the club via email and your name will be posted within a full list of successful trialists on our social media.
In some cases, we may ask you to come to an extended trial on day three (Thursday 3rd October). This will be communicated to you directly.
If you are a high level footballer, please DM us on Instagram with a footballing CV as we may invite you to join pre-season ahead of trials.

To become a football scholar:
- You must have played for a Step 5 Club or above in the past year
- Or, an academy of a league 2 club or higher in the past year

A little more about the club:
The 1st XI is working towards our goal of competing in BUCS Premier North Division, the highest league in university football.
Beyond life on the pitch, the club gets together for our weekly social (Circle) on Wednesday, reflecting on match performances, celebrating wins, or forgetting about defeats. The club has a great history of togetherness and a bond throughout our age groups.
The club also makes significant contributions to charity, holding numerous fundraisers throughout the year that have helped to raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes. Recent events include raising over £5000 through a London to Paris cycle, £4500 from a 42-mile ultramarathon, and our annual Movember fundraising efforts. Heading into the 2024/25 season, our charity work will be focused on a local soup kitchen, Helping Hands, as well as the CALM charity which tackles mental health issues.
