Regardless of whether it’s staff or student-led, any protest or demonstration on campus is governed by a number of University documents to ensure that protests can take place safely and legally.

The Dignity at Warwick policy ensures a working and learning environment in which all University members (staff and students) are treated fairly and with dignity and respect:

Campus Security also have a Code of Conduct which details the expected behaviours of their staff during a protest or demonstration: https://warwick.ac.uk/services/campus-security/about/codeofconduct/.
In addition, if there is any intention to march, the protest or demonstration organiser must also inform the police (https://www.gov.uk/protests-and-marches-letting-the-police-know). Please note that this applies even on University land where members of the public have right of way.
