Trip to Athens: 19th March – 24th March 2025

Join us for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of ancient Greece! From 19th to 24th March 2025, we’ll be staying in the vibrant district of Plaka, Athens’ oldest neighbourhood, nestled at the foot of the iconic Acropolis. This immersive trip offers a blend of rich history, local culture, and modern Greek life. Your journey includes flights, accommodation, transfers, and some exciting day trips, all for £399!

What's Included:

  • Flights: Direct return flights from Gatwick Airport to Athens.
  • Accommodation: We’ll be staying at Athens Hawks Hostel in Plaka, a cozy and well-located hostel offering three-person rooms. Each room is designed for comfort and ease, with clean amenities and a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Meals: Breakfast is included every morning at the hostel to fuel your day of exploration. However, lunch and dinner are not included, giving you the flexibility to discover the diverse range of restaurants, cafes, and tavernas in the Plaka area. You can enjoy everything from traditional Greek dishes to international cuisine.
  • Transfers: All transfers between Athens Airport and the hostel are included, making your journey to and from the accommodation seamless.
  • Day Trips and Tours:
    • Acropolis and Parthenon Tour: Dive into Athens' ancient past with a special guided tour of the Parthenon and the Acropolis, where you’ll learn about the fascinating history of these iconic landmarks.
    • Plaka Walking Tour: Discover the charming streets of Plaka, Athens’ oldest neighborhood, through a guided walking tour. With its labyrinth of narrow streets, neoclassical houses, and vibrant atmosphere, Plaka is a treasure trove of history and culture.
Additionally, you’ll have the option to participate in the following optional activities:
    • Agora Visit: Explore the ancient Agora – the heart of Athenian public life in ancient times.
    • National Archaeological Museum Tour: Visit the world-famous museum that houses one of the most important collections of ancient Greek antiquities.
    • Cycling Tour of Plaka: Get an active perspective of the area with a guided cycling tour through the picturesque streets of Plaka.

While these three optional activities are not mandatory, we highly encourage you to take part, as they offer an in-depth experience of Athens and its surroundings.

Accommodation & Facilities:

The Athens Hawks Hostel offers more than just a place to sleep. The vibrant rooftop terrace bar provides panoramic views of the city, perfect for a relaxing drink after a day of sightseeing. The hostel’s central location in Plaka puts you within walking distance of numerous cafes, restaurants, shops, and historical sites.

Additional Information:

  • Meals: As mentioned, lunch and dinner are not included in your ticket, giving you the chance to explore the culinary delights of Athens at your own pace. Plaka is known for its excellent eateries, from traditional souvlaki spots to contemporary restaurants offering Mediterranean fusion cuisine.
  • Insurance: It is mandatory that all participants have travel insurance for the duration of the trip. Be sure to check that your passport is valid for at least three months beyond the trip's dates. Unfortunately, if your passport is invalid, or you are without travel insurance, you will not be able to attend, and the ticket is non-refundable.

Cost:

  • Total Cost: £399, which includes flights, accommodation, airport transfers, and the included day trips.

Free Time & Local Exploration:
