Women in Sport Conference

Ticket Types

  • Women in Sport - All Day Ticket (Includes a Dirty Duck Voucher): Join us for the entire day (10:00 – 16:00). This ticket covers entry into each speaker event and includes a Dirty Duck meal deal for a meal and a drink!
  • Women In Sport - Session Entry Ticket (Includes entry to any number of sessions): This covers entry into the event for as much of the day as you’d like to see, but it does not include a free Dirty Duck Meal Voucher!

Join us, and our speakers. as we come and speak around their experiences of being women in the sports field, any barriers they may have faced, achievements they have accomplished, and how to encourage young women to get involved in sports. With talks from

  • Charlotte Moore, Wheelchair Basketball
  • Jordan Hart, Badminton
  • Kare Adenegan, Wheelchair Racing
  • Unfortunately, Susannah Townsend is now unable to make the event but we have the inspirational Zoe De Toledo, Coxed Eight Rowing Crew, coming their place

This event is supported by Warwick Innovation Funding and is led by the Students’ Union’s Vice President of Sports, Emma Birch and will be held in the Zeeman Building.

Wheelchair Basketball star Charlie Moore will be drawing on her sporting journey and experiences. Charlie is An experienced athlete with an impressive wheelchair basketball career, Charlie is proudly representing her hometown of Coventry at Birmingham 2022. She is also a two-time Paralympian Charlie has been involved in the GB Women’s squads since 2013, marking her first Senior appearance the same year, and was part of the team that had an historic silver medal finish at the 2018 World Championships.

Badminton:

Jordan Hart has won seven Welsh National Championships title, 5 times in the women's singles event from 2016 to 2020, once in the mixed and women's doubles in 2012 and 2020 respectively. She will be sharing her journey to success in her talk.

Kare:

Former Warwick student and scholar Kare has experienced great success in Wheelchair racing. Competing for Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, at the age of 15, she won a silver medal and two bronze medals. In 2018, Adenegan set a then New World record in the T34 100m at the Müller Anniversary Games in London, with a time of 16.80 seconds. Adenegan is one of the only T34 athletes to have completed the 100 metres in sub 17 seconds. 

Zoe De Toledo:

Zoe coxed the GB Women’s Eight rowing crew to a historic silver medal at the Rio Olympics. European Champion in 2016, and World U23 Champion in 2009. Nationally, steered Oxford University in the infamous 2012 Boat Race, won multiple medals at Henley Royal Regatta, and was National Champion 6 times. Off the water, Zoe commentates for the BBC Boat Race and World Rowing Championships programs.
